Cradle of Light

I particularly like the 'cusps' where the line changes direction; they are brighter as the relative velocity of the source and camera is lower, highlighting these regions

Starburst (Anaglyph 3D)

This 3D image was captured near perfect fifth tuning (3:2 period ratio) giving this 5 lobed (3+2) starburst pattern. Best viewed through red/blue anaglyph glasses

The Opening

Captured near Octave tuning, this form appears to be hatching or breaking open

Twirling away

The twirl at the top right of the image appears to breaking or accelerating away from the main form. Captured near octave tuning

Opening (Anaglyph 3D)

This simple form, captured near unison (1:1) tuning draws the eye into the form, leading onwards

Captive (Anaglyph 3D)

This is best viewed through Anaglyph red-blue glasses. Captured near octave tuning, the tree lobes of the net are reaching out, capturing and enfolding any nearby travellers

The Spin (Anaglyph 3D)

Captured with tuning sharp of unison (1+:1) this form spins and reaches out

Tripodiums from the Oceans of Enceladus

... imagine you are an observer deep in the hidden ocean of Enceladus or Europa... it is wet, warm and nutrient rich... life evolves, but not as we know it... these creatures endlessly follow their leader in the void, harvesting electrical energy from the magnetic fields and radiation, making them glow and rotate... they reproduce by splitting into three...

Loops and Hoops (Anaglyph 3D)

Captured near unison tuning, this image is a stack of loops, hoops and nets to hold them together

Positronium (3D Anaglyph)

This could be a visualisation of Positronium, a synthetic (but real and often studied!) atom comprising an electron (blue) and a positron, its anti-particle (red). This 'atom' lives for a fraction of a microsecond, before annihilating in a burst of light!

Space Net (Anaglyph 3D)

if you were with Captain Kirk on the Bridge of the Enterprise, this would be something to avoid!

This is best viewed through anaglyph glasses (red on lft eye, blue on right). NASA. comments ‘its not the universe as we know it!’

Twins

this isn't a 3D anaglyph. It just looked nice in two colours, captured together, maybe a pair of cockerels?

Imagine 2

This image is 'Imagine' converted to monochrome and inverted to give a negative image. This doesn't work too well on most images as the 'depth' seems to be lost - they look more like line drawings. In this case the form is 'solid' so inversion seems quite effective. what do you think?

Coils of Light

A bit more complexity has been added to the upper platform, by configuring it as an ' anihsortopically suspended pendulum' - this is in the form of a Y and has different periods swinging left-right and in-out of the screen

Basket of Light

The curves seem to form a basket, made of light. It would be a good place to relax, and listen to the old pentangle album, 'Basket of Light'

Folding Space-Time

Inspired by all the great Sci-Fi we have to watch (Foundation, Dune...) this imagesseems to me to be evocative of folds in space and time; the curves are smooth, sensuous, with the natural blue/yellow tone from the source LED

Dark Adapted Eye

Captured with two platforms and a single light source, with tuning close to octave. The colour is native to the LED, which has a blue centre pumping a white phosphor. With the pinhole aperture I use, this gives the blue - yellow shading

The evil eye (anaglyph)

Here I have slowly moved the level of the vertical platform, this time towards the camera, so the centre of the eye bulges towards you... view if you dare, shiver if you do...

Whirlpool (anaglyph)

Look at this though anaglyph glasses/ filters and let yourself be drawn into the abyss

Galactic Net (anaglyph)

A harmonogram captured with three moving platforms, two horizontal, one vertical, to give this 3D anaglyph. View through colour filters or anaglyph glasses, red on the left eye, blue right.
